Community/Particpatory Work

I work freelance as a community artist going into schools, criminal justice settings, charities, businesses, support centres and pupil referral units to lead workshops designed to inspire conversation, connection and facilitate creative respite. I use a holistic approach catered to the needs and responses of the individuals I meet that day. My workshops and sessions place a particular focus on the diversity of brains and are often divided into sections, for example; play, chatting, writing, making, collaborating. In doing this I create an inclusive and judgement free co-learning environment where each person can explore a way of connecting to their sense of self and those around them. The work is always led by acts of radical care and is also fun, silly and human.

If you would like to discuss hiring me to lead a creative workshop please email me at irelandkate9@gmail.com.

I worked over the Covid Pandemic with the artists at NEMO Arts. Each participant has lived experience of mental ill health and has been referred to the group by a medical professional. Through our online sessions we created spoken word, choreography, movement sequences and short films.
