Experiments in Rest

Experiments in Rest is a collaborative performance that challenges our productivity-driven culture. The production features four women embroidering on an unending piece of fabric while exploring the need for rest, community, and wellbeing. The performance prompts us to reassess the meaning of rest and the value of vulnerability as resistance in a hyper-competitive, productivity obsessed culture. Experiments in Rest was created by Collective Break, a group of artists committed to exploring themes of autobiography, task-based performance, female experience, and protest through action.
