Golden Time

and other behavioural management strategies

Golden Time is a behavioural management strategy used in primary school to reward good behaviour with an hour of free time at the end of the school week. Bad behaviour is punished with minutes deducted from the hour, resulting in time spent isolated, staring into the void.

Kate wants to tell you about Golden Time, about when she started to think about it again in her adult life. But ironically, Kate has terrible time management, and needs the audience to help her stay on track.

Golden Time and other Behavioural Management Strategies asks us to question incentives, educational systems and productivity. A journey through a distracted, overworked mind in a world that has no plans to slow down.

This play has been supported by the Roundhouse Resident Artist programme, which facilitates and supports the creative and professional development of 10 outstanding emerging artists each year.
