Spoken Word
As a spoken word artist I have performed headline slots in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Blackpool and Manchester. My style is a combination of storytelling and direct address, often using small micro narratives to relate to larger themes. I take influence from the Glaswegian locals who chewed my ear off in pubs and clubs growing up, as well as the solidarity and community of Scottish storytelling. I don’t identify with the term poetry as much as I do with story-telling, as I combine the political and personal, exploring my experience of neuro-diversity, care work, community and the effects of capitalism and consumerism on the body.
