This Town by Rory Aaron

A theatre show commissioned by Derby Theatre and Contact in which I joined as a performer and creative. Adapted from Rory Aaron’s epic narrative poem, the play charts the overlapping lives of the residents in a small Midlands town. Exploring the transience of memory, mental health, masculinity, PTSD and the deindustrialization of working class towns, the performance required an ability to travel fluidly between direct address and the embodiment of different characters. During a two week R&D process at Contact, I played an integral role in transferring the script from page to stage by devising and experimenting with the text in rehearsal.

The play will be performed for 6 nights at Contact Theatre, two shows in Derby, then will embark on a North West Schools tour.
